“Rockaway Fun Run” – Waiver & Release of Liability

I, the undersigned participant, acknowledge that I have voluntarily chosen to participate in the “Rockaway Fun Run” at the White River Coffee Company in Rockaway Beach, MO. All participants must be at least 12 years of age. I understand and agree to the terms of this Waiver and Release of Liability.

Assumption of Risk

I understand that participating in a 5K race is a potentially hazardous activity and involves risks of injury including, but not limited to: falls, physical contact with other participants, weather conditions, traffic, the condition of the course, etc. I know that these risks may result in serious injury, death or property damage. I am medically able and properly trained to participate in this event. I voluntarily and knowingly assume all risks associated with my participation in this event.

Release and Waiver of Claims

In consideration for being permitted to participate in the event, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby waive, release, and forever discharge the organizations involved: the White River Coffee Company, Bridge of Faith Community Church, The City of Rockaway and the Heartland Racing Company, the Rockaway Beach Police Department, its sponsors, volunteers, agents, employees, officers, and all liability, claims, demands, damages, costs, and expenses of any kind arising from my participation in the event, including but not limited to, any claims of negligence, injury, illness, or death.

Police Escort & City Community Volunteers/Staff

I understand and acknowledge that there will be a police escort for the participants in the “Rockaway Fun Run 5K” race. Any and all police officers, city community volunteers and staff will not be harmed in any way during this event. This may involve, but will not be limited to: physical and/or vocalized assault, damage to vehicles or equipment, etc.

Medical Consent

In the event of an accident, injury or illness, I consent to receive medical treatment, which may be deemed as advisable by emergency medical personnel.

Publicity Release

I grant full permission to the Releasees to use my name, likeness and voice in any photographs, videos, recordings or other records of the event for any legitimate purpose, including promotion and advertising, without compensation. This permission agreement will also include following respectable publicity for any participant taking any photographs, videos or recordings at the decorated 5K photo booth.

Event Fee

I fully acknowledge that the $35 registration fee for the event is due at the time of registration and before the event takes place on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at 8:15am. This fee will include a pancake breakfast. The event fee will be non-refundable.

Acknowledgment

I have read this Waiver and Release of Liability, fully understand its terms, and I understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights by signing it. I am signing this document freely and voluntarily, and I intend for it to be a complete and unconditional release of liability to the greatest extent permitted by law.
